MAXWELL'S BIO
Maxwell Perry Cotton was born on May 7th, 2000 in San Diego, CA. From a very early age it was evident Maxwell had a very fun-loving and outgoing personality. At his 1st birthday party, he enjoyed mingling and conversing, particularly with the adults. To this day, Maxwell prefers adult conversation.
After frequent urging from family and friends to “get that kid into commercials”, Maxwell’s parents decided to seek representation for him. With the guidance and help from Camie Carpenter of Hollywood Talent Associates in La Jolla, CA, Maxwell was given the opportunity to meet with TAG at TAG Models in Los Angeles, CA and Pam Pahnke with Elegance Talent Agency in Carlsbad, CA. Both agencies agreed to represent Maxwell; TAG for the Los Angeles area, and Elegance for the San Diego area.
After countless casting calls and tireless efforts from his Mother, Maxwell finally earned his 1st job in March 2005; an industrial video for Mattel. His career has quickly and steadily risen from there.
In November 2005 Max earned his first “big” job when he was added to the national Hanes Tough Socks ad campaign. On the day of the photo shoot, Maxwell surprisingly learned he would be working with Mr. T. Max and Mr. T ended up in Wal-Mart stores nationwide for Hanes.
By this time it was evident Max had learned the “tricks” of the casting trade as he was landing nearly every job he tried for. Maxwell’s parents then contacted his agent, TAG, about TV and Movie representation. TAG arranged a meeting for Maxwell with Matt Fletcher of ACME Talent & Literary in Los Angeles, CA and Maxwell's TV and Movie career was off and running!
Television and movie castings were clearly different than that of modeling castings. Max continued to land modeling work, but struggled a bit with the TV and movie castings. He was enrolled in classes with Samuel Warren & Associates in San Diego, CA. The education immediately paid off as Max soon after earned a role in the CBS Pilot “Welcome To The Jungle Gym”. In addition, Max was cast for a national Jiff Peanut Butter Commercial.
The CBS Pilot was not picked up for the 2006 fall season. This became a blessing when Maxwell’s career seemingly reached its pinnacle as he earned the recurring role of Cooper Whedon in the new ABC hit drama “Brothers & Sisters”.
In November 2006, Maxwell’s career DID reach its current pinnacle as he was named the new Dennis The Menace. He and his family were off to Montreal to shoot “A Dennis The Menace Christmas”, which will be released during the 2007 holiday season by Warner Bros Home Video and Sneak Preview Entertainment. Max had a great time making friends with the cast and crew while learning the ins and outs of shooting a movie in a starring role.
Currently, Maxwell is enjoying the stability of his role with Brothers & Sisters while continuing his new friendships with his TV sister Kerris Lilla Dorsey and the “B&S Dog Pound”.
Max spends his spare time playing with his brother and cousins, and is currently playing basketball for National Youth Sports. He looks forward to the continued success of B&S and anxiously awaits the release of “A Dennis The Menace Christmas”.
